Why should men have all the fun? Stag parties have gotten an amazing reputation for the man's last chance for fun before he gets shackled to his wife until the end of time. Who says that women don't need the same sort of escape? After all, most of the wedding planning is left up to the woman—shouldn't she get a last weekend of "freedom" before shackling herself to matron duty? Of course she should! The problem is coming up with hen party ideas that will allow your chief hen to have fun while giving her a memorable time. Here are a few hints to help you plan the greatest hen party of all time.
- 1. Ask your chief hen what her perfect night or weekend would be—with the exception of time spent with her future husband. She's getting that. You're giving her the road not taken for a night or a few days. If she says she doesn't want a pub crawl then pay attention to that and give her what she does want. Sure it can be fun to dress her up in a genitalia adorned shirt and get her roaring drunk, but if that is not her scene, chances are she won't have very much fun. This weekend is about her.
- 2. Don't scorn a weekend spent in with the girls. Head out to a hotel or retreat in which all of you can be waited on in style and spend time doing all of your chief hen's favorite things. If her idea of a perfect day is one spent lying on the beach, find a beach for her to lie on. If she loves the idea of a cozy night in with a bunch of chick flicks, then head to the local movie rental place and stock up on every tear jerker you can find!
- 3. No men allowed. One of the chief rules of a stag party is no phone calls to the future "little missus." Implement the same rule in your weekend. No boys allowed unless you have hired them to entertain you!
- 4. Track down old friends that might be coming into town for the wedding—friends she has been worried about being able to spend time with. Get them to come in a few days early (let them stay with you and your friends if budget is an issue) so that the chief hen will be able to spend copious amounts of time with everyone she wants to spend time with. She'll love getting to see her old friends without having to worry about neglecting the rest of her wedding attendees.
- 5. Nail down the budget before you leave for your night or weekend of debauchery. This way you won't have to worry about your bank account while you are trying to show your friend a good time. Have everyone contribute to a central "kitty" for the major expenses. This way your chief hen won't have to worry about how much your hen party ideas are going to cost.
