Stag Party Ideas and Stag Night Ideas

Tell the truth. When you hear about stag parties, what is the first thing you think of? Scantily clad women who may or may not shed every last stitch of their clothing? Large quantities of alcoholic beverages? Many men behaving in a debaucherous manner? Don't feel bad if this is your first idea of a stag party—the stereotype has certainly been well earned. Of course, just because this is the stereotypical stag party, that does not mean that your stag party ideas need to be limited to these images. There are plenty of other stag party ideas that you can put into play when planning the "last hurrah" for your friend.

Here are a few of the other stag party ideas that have become popular:

  • 1. An "all men" weekend getaway. Get out of town. Go out into the woods and go camping. Go on an "adventure" with your best mates and go bungee jumping or sky diving or something that would absolutely freak out the women of your social circle. Play some paintball. Or, you know, go out into the woods, drink alcohol all weekend and bemoan the groom's impending commitment. There are plenty of websites out there that will help you plan your trip from the travel to the accommodations; even some of the activities.
  • 2. Have a "kitty." This works both for weekend getaways and stag parties that happen just for one evening and in town. The "kitty" is a community money pool. At the beginning of the event, everyone puts money into the kitty and that becomes the budget for the evening. This can help things considerably as there always seems to be at least one man who feels the need to pay for everything and at least one man who "forgets" his wallet at home. The kitty allows everyone to contribute without having to keep track of who buys what. The kitty can also be used solely for larger things like the admission to an event as well as leaving the smaller things: extra drinks, souvenirs, etc. to the individuals participating in the event.
  • 3. Consider hiring a professional. Hire a professional stag night planner. These people have all sorts of stag party ideas for you and your friends to choose from. If nothing else, hire a professional to take care of your transportation needs. This way you can imbibe as much as you want without having to worry about whether or not you are sober enough to operate an automobile.
These are just three stag party ideas to keep in mind while you are deciding how best to entertain your friend during his last hurrah as a "single" man. It is perfectly natural to want to give your friend a party that he will remember for the rest of his life, but when it comes to specific stag party ideas, the number of choices can feel overwhelming. Take these three suggestions into consideration when you begin your planning process and you'll have a weekend you'll never forget!
