Past their
Sell-By Date?
Every
Christmas, people love to do traditional things – the tree is bought,
decorations are erected, presents are purchased, the turkey is cooked and
Christmas crackers are bought to help celebrate the occasion.
I’ve
always loved the festive period and the anticipation and excitement you feel
going through these traditional preparation activities. However, the one
‘bee in my bonnet’ has always been buying crackers – time and time again
I’ve walked round supermarkets and shops moaning that they are over-priced and
the novelties contained in them are, to put it simply, rubbish (unless of course
you can afford to shop at Harrods). Most people pull the cracker, read
some unfunny joke and wonder how it’s always them who get the really boring
and useless mini screwdriver set or plastic ring that only fits your 2 year old
niece.
I
wanted to break this cracker tradition and design something that would kick off
the Christmas celebrations in style and give people something that they would
actually want to take home with them. I think I’ve now managed to
achieve this and it comes in the form of a ‘Xmas Bomb’.
So
just when everyone thought that all the gifts and surprises had finished for the
day, give them one more and make sure it’s a Christmas to remember and be
